State-Mandated Police Training
Interactive Programming Covering All Eight Areas of Training
Since 2008, a health and human service initiative by the Indiana Drug Education Association (IDEA) has partnered ACT Out with the Indiana State Police. Each year, the State of Indiana requires each police officer to attend mandatory training and ACT Out helps the Indiana State Police meet these state mandates while the ensemble expands its social outreach, illuminates root problems and identifies solutions.
Using social issues improv theatre, the ACT Out ensemble along with IDEA annually creates interactive and entertaining two-hour programs that cover all eight mandated areas of training:
- Domestic Violence
- Hazardous Materials
- SIDS
- Blood Borne Pathogens
- Mental Illness
- Human Trafficking
- Autism
- De-escalation
- Alzheimer’s
This unique way of presenting state mandated training was developed by the Indiana Drug Enforcement Association and has been seen and approved by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
